Journal Entry Been a long time....
Hello, it's been a very long period since I have updated this page. Figured it was time. Where to stsrt.... hmmm.
Much has happened and is happening. I should mention that I have 6 exhibitions coming up in the next year. September 18-28, 2009 I will be in Paris, France for 2 shows. Musically been doing much as well. Have a few gigs coming up around Toronto. Have a big show coming up in Guelph on September 12th. hmmmm. Can't think of anything else right now. Let me know if anybody has read this, and I will keep updating.

Crossroads: very cool tune Michael Marian Monday, April 23, 2007—3:25:35 PM
The last line nails it for me: giving these sad songs back. I remember a time at the beginning when all that came out of me was sad songs. My blue period I guess. Then at some point it was done. Not forced, just finished, exhausted. I heard you play this at the Ren and I think it was your first performance of it. Back To The Crossroads Shawn Aarons Friday, April 06, 2007—12:39:24 PM
Delicious! A Church on the lonely horizon MOesch Thursday, March 29, 2007—8:52:10 AM
Arthur
I found your photo's at the AGO very stunning. I've always loved huge photographs and the detail is very fine. I almost got out my 10X loop and checked out the grain but when I got to close to them one of those security guards came around and almost threw mw out ( only joking). What I found most interesting is how to view these dilapitaing churches and what they represent to the current First Nations Generations. I know the History and have taked with many natives and know what Colonization and Christianity has borught to most indiginous people around the world. The crocked cross on top of the on church is vivid reminder of the 400 years of control and manipulation.
Besides them being great photo of British Columbian Native Churches they are also a record of how your people were surpressed.
An now the Generation of First Nations are turning back to traditional ways and the houses of the Holy Fathers are left in disrepair and abandonded to a God who did little for them except spread fear and intimidation.
In those few images you captured the feeling of the Aboriginals of your generation and they book end the Emily Carr exhibit so well.
Now I'm just waiting for the Arthur Renwick Retrospective Music and Art Shawn Aarons Tuesday, March 27, 2007—3:05:04 PM
Hi Arthur, I might need to clone myself because there's way too many good events happening and I can't keep up.
I saw the Emily Carr exhibit, it was wonderful. Your photos are really beautiful. I could get lost in them. Hey, slidewinder... Marcus Walker Sunday, August 27, 2006—2:34:33 PM

It sounds like you had the priviledge of talking to a very wise person with regards to the cowboy hat. Someone once told me that cowboy hats worn on Saturdays bring you nothing but sunshine and good fortune - probably another wise person. Sliding MOesch Thursday, May 18, 2006—9:05:13 PM
Hey Arthur
I clicked on your track Sacred Fire and I heard that slide sound that brings a smile to so many faces.
Even Jazz came out of his Quarter birth on the boat with his ears all perked.
I can't wait till you have a whole album of gems like this.
Thanks for just being you. You've become good at it.
Rocking with the sliding waves,

Hi Arthur, it is the fourth time addressing you in the same day for me although it is already Monday at your end. After reading all these messages of praise to you and your performance I am turning green of envy with all those folks in Toronto that have a privilege to see and hear you. How can I get to experience at least some of what everyone is writing about? Lilly Thanks..it was a privilege JEnn South Monday, March 20, 2006—12:21:55 PM
Hi Arthur. Just wanted to say thanks for the little jam at the Renaissance on Tuesday night. I had heard plenty about you and it was nice to get a chance to play with you. I hope to do it again soon. Here is a song about a remorseful guy, going back to the crossroads to give his sad songs back to the devil. Recorded live off the floor in one take. Mitch and Matthew had never heard the song before. I just kind of sprung it on them while the tape was rolling, and they joined in. Unmixed and unmastered... yet.

This song used to be called "Come On Over" till Ed told me someone else of reasonable fame had a song with the same name... So I changed the title. This song's story is a little different than her's, as you will soon see. Recorded Live at the Renaissance Cafe, July 18, 2006.
